About the service
Nail reinforcement is the application of a thin layer of base gel over the natural nail, creating a “protective coat”. Ideal for those with fragile nails or who want to extend the life of gel polish.
Nail reinforcement is the lightest of the strengthening services. It applies a thin layer of base gel over the natural nail, forming a protective coat that evens out the surface and helps polish last longer. It is the right choice for discreet protection, without extensions and without the heavier structure of a gel bath.
It works well on fragile or thin nails and on nails with mild peeling, and equally well for anyone who simply wants their polish to stop chipping after a few days. Because the layer is thin, the nail keeps its natural flexibility and the look stays very close to the original — most people cannot tell there is any product on at all.
The appointment includes preparing the natural nail, applying the base gel, curing under LED and the finish, which can include gel polish if you want colour. During the assessment we check whether reinforcement is enough for your case: when the plate is very thin or breaks easily, the honest advice is to start with a gel bath instead.
Reinforcement has clear limits and it is only fair to name them. It does not add length, does not correct shape and will not support a nail that already breaks at the tip regularly: in that situation a gel bath is the right service. It is also not a treatment for lifting, discolouration or pain in the plate, all of which need assessment before any application. What reinforcement does deliver is an even surface, less peeling and polish that stops chipping in the first week, discreet enough for any workplace.

Aftercare
- Wear gloves for washing dishes and for cleaning tasks.
- Moisturise the cuticle every day, without pushing the skin back with a hard tool.
- Do not peel or pull at the gel layer, even if it lifts in one corner.
- Avoid acetone: it dries out the plate and attacks the protective layer.
- If lifting appears, send a photo on WhatsApp before touching it.
- Schedule maintenance together with your colour change, since the interval is the same.
